# Google Ads

> Connect your Google Ads account to HYPD

## Before You Start

You'll need a Google account that has access to the Google Ads advertiser accounts you want to analyze.

  **Use an advertiser account, not an MCC.** When prompted, select the Google account with direct access to advertiser accounts—not your Manager (MCC) account.

## Connect Your Account

<Steps>
  <Step title="Go to Sources">
    From the HYPD sidebar, click **Sources**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click Connect">
    Find Google Ads and click **Connect**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose Your Google Account">
    Select the Google account that has access to your advertiser accounts.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Authorize Access">
    Review HYPD's privacy policy and terms of service, then click **Continue** to grant access.
  </Step>

Once connected, your advertiser accounts will appear in the Chat dropdown.

## Permissions

HYPD requests read-only access to your Google Ads data. We can view your campaigns, keywords, ads, and performance metrics—but we cannot make any changes to your account.

| View campaigns | See campaign structure and settings |
| View performance | Access metrics like clicks, cost, conversions |
| View ads | Read ad copy, headlines, and descriptions |
| View keywords | See keywords and search terms |

## Troubleshooting

  <Accordion title="I don't see my advertiser accounts">
    Make sure you selected the correct Google account—the one with direct access to advertiser accounts, not your MCC.

  <Accordion title="Account shows as CLOSED">
    Closed accounts appear in the dropdown but cannot be analyzed. Contact Google Ads support if you believe this is an error.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="I want to connect a different Google account">
    Go to **Sources**, disconnect Google Ads, then reconnect with the correct account.
  </Accordion>
