HYPD connects to your Google Ads account through the official Google Ads API. While the API provides access to most campaign data, certain features are only available in the Google Ads UI.
This page outlines what HYPD cannot access due to Google’s API constraints.
Auction Insights
COMPLETELY UNAVAILABLE - Must use Google Ads UI
The following competitive auction metrics are not supported by the Google Ads API:
- Impression share vs. competitors
- Overlap rate with competitors
- Position above rate
- Top of page rate vs. competitors
- Any competitive auction metrics
Why? Google does not expose Auction Insights data through the API. You must use the Google Ads UI to view this information.
Quality Score Details
PARTIAL AVAILABILITY - Raw scores available, categorical labels not available
HYPD can access numeric Quality Score components (1-10 scale), but not the simplified labels:
- Available: Numeric scores for Quality Score, Expected CTR, Ad Relevance, and Landing Page Experience
- Not Available: “Above average/Average/Below average” categorical labels
Why? The categorical labels are UI-only shorthand. The API provides the underlying numeric scores, which HYPD can analyze and report.
COMPLETELY UNAVAILABLE - Must use Google Ads UI
Performance Max campaign breakdowns by channel (Search, Display, YouTube, Gmail, Discover) are not available through the API.
Why? Google does not expose channel-level performance data for Performance Max campaigns in the API. You must use the Google Ads UI to view asset group performance by channel.
Need This Data?
For features listed as unavailable, you’ll need to access them directly in the Google Ads UI. HYPD can still analyze all other campaign data, metrics, and dimensions available through the API.
